At the same time, 120 crores ACs are currently working worldwide. By 2050, their number will be 450 crores. It is believed that by increasing their number, the temperature of the earth will also increase. Which will have a bad effect on other animals including humans.
Air conditioners consume 10 percent of the Earth's electricity -
According to the International Energy Agency, only air conditioners consume 10 percent of the total electricity produced on Earth. Because the currently used air conditioner model was made about 100 years ago.
Indian government's global cooling prize competition -
Seeing the number of rapidly growing air conditioners in the country, the Government of India has launched the global cooling prize competition internationally. The competition is organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology in association with the Rocky Mountain Institute of America.

In the opening round of this competition, 2100 participants from 95 countries participated. After which eight teams were shortlisted. Which includes three teams from India, three from the US, one each from China and Britain. Each of these teams has been given two million dollars to make a prototype of the new AC.
Winner will be announced in November 2020 -
All these prototypes will be tested for 60 days in the summer season in Delhi in the year 2020. Whoever becomes the winner of this competition will be awarded a prize of 1 million dollars.
